About The Neil Family
I was born in 1956 and lived the first 19 years of my life in Bryant's Cove.
I remember in 1963 walking to Upper Island Cove with my Dad to attend the wake of my Great Uncle Charles Neil who lived with his daughter Muriel Jones (Husband Leander)
It was something i will never forget seeing my first Dead person.
Over the years sense then I spent a lot of time in Islend Cove, School, CLB, Dating, Dances, Snack Bar in the Back Road, Work related, visiting Family.

Upper Island Cove was as much of my early life as Bryant's Cove was.
Some of my best friends and memories came to me in Island Cove.
Mercer, Crane, Lundrigan, Coombs, Drover, Jones just to name a few of the many surnames spoken of in our home as family.

I started researching my Family shortly after my dad died, I was only 22 and back then the best way to do that was to visit the Colonial Building in St. Johns.
I spent many hours looking over old documents in that building, from there the road took me in many directions, some good, many dead ends and faulted trails but over the past 40 plus years I have accumilated a lot of material with the help of other researchers.
The information i have posted here is accorite to the best of my ability, if anything is questionable please feel free to contact me and we can discuss and if corrections need to be made it wont be a problem.
I have many stories to go along with many people in this tree and I am hoping over time i will be able to add some of those stories.
It was once told me that a person actually dies 2 times. Once when the person breaths his or her last breath and the second time is when that persons name is mentioned for the last time.

Sites like this one helps keep peoples memories alive so God Bless those who keep this going.

God Bless one and all.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
